ROUGH DRAFT
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21
This year my thoughts have kept coming back to "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:" John 10:27. How does one share what God does, when should we, and do we hear others sharing how they hear God's voice? Tonight as I was restoring old hard drive files from throughout the years from crashed drives, duplicated drives, etc, I stumbled across an old website link of people's experiences with God.
On this website, there was a short article that started with the verse above. What caught my attention was that in my life, there have been times when I heard God's spirit speaking behind me. I have always felt the spirit speaking to me, but the moments very clear and most memorable are when they are behind me. This is what brings my thoughts to how often we hear others talk about what God shows them. We usually hear in testimonies when people are saved, how God has interacted with them. My thoughts have been more on interactions after being saved. Do Christians talk about how God directs their paths? As I read the verse in context more with the rest of the chapter, I also see in verse 8, "Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book..."
I have also been exploring the possibility of writing a book or finishing the one I had started years ago. Feels like God has been laying a path in front of me that I have been reluctant to pick back up, life is busy. These two thoughts seem to be coming together when I read Isaiah 30:8, "Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book..." I suppose we will see where this path leads, it may just be a teaching path. It could also be helping me pick what to write about. Formality of research or sharing God's works in my life. There have been several things put in my path that are tying into the thoughts of my soul this year.
Once again as I go to think about writing, I feel the spiritual warfare distracting me from it.
To be continued...
