In His Word

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39

12/31/2014 Recorded Thought

You hear it said, oh your not reading the bible, your going the wrong way, your not reading the bible every day. Is it actually in the scripture that you should read the bible every day? I don't know if I visualize early Christians being able to read the bible every single day. I can imagine them clinging to it, and rereading it every day, but they didn't have access to it every day. Does it mean your a bad Christian if you don't read them everyday. We have to be careful on what we think about that, either way. Don't want to be slack, but also not punish ourselves when we don't. Personally, I believe the more often I am in scripture the better off I am. It keeps me from going paths my spirit wouldn't chose. If not in scripture, I tend to follow my flesh more. But there are times when life calls us to work hard, exhausted, etc.

I would think my faith is strong enough to want to read scriptures everyday, "...for in them ye think ye have eternal life". But experience tells me my flesh is weak, so do scriptures.

For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Romans 7:19
