Do You Wonder?

Updated: Mar 29, 2023

11/21/2021 AM Sermon

Rev. 5; Mat.15; Is.29

Minister talked about Grand Reveals in things, like a new piece of art, music, and the excitement to see how it comes together in the end. In the Revelation church bible study, we are getting a little bit of an insight into the final reveal God has in store for us. Also talked about a retired architect, how he will start to show plans, then remind customers where they were earlier in the project, and then reveal a little more at a time. Unroll the plans, then close, a little more each time.

We see at the right-hand throne of God ... who is worthy, who can open the sealed book? John saw at first, that there was none worthy and he wept very much. Minister said this was very convicting to him, pray what is distracting us today; pray that we be like John, when he saw what he saw ... John got so emotional that he wept. As we come to church, don't always have the desire for revelation to be made clear. John longed for someone to reveal what is in the book. Ultimately, the Lamb was worthy, rejoicing, worshipped forever, and forever. Song 291; Combined Hymns.

Noted that nearly everything said in Revelations is in other scriptures.

  • Matthew 15: Jesus tells us it was said in Isaiah 29.

  • Jesus' intention with Pharisees, scholars would have known what Isaiah said.

  • Hypocrites, well did Isaiah say nigh unto me with mouth, lips, but not heart. Vain do they worship me.

  • In business, there is an expression, "Being productive in wrong things".

Isaiah ... drunken, sleep ... covered; should be people deep sleep. Are we? Isaiah was saying, stop and wonder. It is a gift in business, some stop and wonder, give consideration to what is going on.

  • V11 Vision of all ... as book that is sealed, I can not for it is sealed. LEARNED.

  • V12 delivered to him that's not learned ... I don't know. UNLEARNED. We are in that position also, John wept, he longed, Isaiah stop, stay, and wonder.

  • V13 Lord sayeth ... near me, removed heart, fear taught by men.. Don't have heart; just precept, commandment of men.

  • V14 therefore, because of all this ... sealed to both learned and unlearned. Heart removed therefore behold I will proceed to do _________; I will _________ and a wonder wisdom perish. Paul goes to 1 Corinthians; wisdom, ....

  • Woe unto them that think can hide from God. Think God doesn't know depth of soul.

Acts 17 Spirit began to use them.

Acts 2 in closing; weeping, wondering, woken up, worship lastly, spirit made speak cloven tongue. Peter No Not Drunk this is what prophet Joel talked about.

V22 Wonder of wonders, marvelous, Jesus

Are you Awake?

Are you listening for clarity, Jesus is the answer. Peter talked about how David, o to be a David ... man after God's own heart; shows us how to be like.

  • ... I foresaw the Lord, In His Heart

  • Heart and tongue

  • Flesh shall rest

Are we asleep, need awakening, wondering, will not be moved that our heart will rejoice, tongue be bold that is in worship; make me full of joy with thy countenance. Plans opened a little, o' that we would wonder.

Sermon Followup;

Next minister following up with hand jesters, opening scrolls - Revelations scroll, Matthew; Isaiah, Acts. Did you wonder, does your heart wonder at what God is doing? Recalled a work video years ago of a toddler playing having a blast, climbing, etc. End of the video - so what happened to you? When we lose our wonder it rob's us of our worship.

Said, the previous minister didn't know this, but the second service coming up on the study of Revelation 12 starts with ... "Great wonder in Heaven".

Personal follow-up this week for me I was thinking about the development of this website and how to praise God, worship God, study His principles, and had thought about a title heading for meditations

in the blogging area as Wonders. Meditations, wondering on God's Word. A thought came to me at the time, will Wonders cause me to Wander. I decided not to title it that, and left it at Meditations, as I tend to wander off topic a lot. However, I do wonder at God's amazing word. Wonders are personally exexcitingeditations.
