Rough Draft

November 3, 2023

A few weeks before in Fruit of the Spirit church Bible study, we were in a Section on Joy. Discussed on Monday September 28; Luke 24:33-53 were the scripture references. Looking back at notes I remembered being focused on verses 30-31. ....and their eyes were opened, and they knew him. Then in verse 32...our heart burn within us, while he talked with us .... while he opened to us the scripture.

Question on one thing in life you would rather see happen than anything else. My focus was to be in heaven, see Jesus and whole family, my faith become sight. Other part question, how you would feel. My answer was joyful, thankful. Had been longing to have my Joy back for 2 years.

Statements about, Holy Spirit brings joy, fills our hearts with praise and thankfulness. Questions how joyful have you been past few weeks, and how can you experience this fruit of the Spirit more fully? I had answered that I am joyful when spend time with God. Joyful when God showed me he is there. We know it, we see the ink on paper, we see the philosophy of it. However, when he reveals it, reveals some of his plan to me, I am joyful. I am most joyful when talk personally about scripture and God opens our eyes to things in my life.

Text started into Road to Emmaus. How they did not recognize Jesus at first, then he opened their understanding to scripture. The excitement, joy they felt. Scripture showed they went back to tell the others that same night. it was about 7 miles, they had already walked from Jerusalem. Imagine how they felt, their Saviour dead to them, and now alive. Grieved to Joyful. How God changed their unchangeable memory of Christ death, impossible. He didn't change the memory, he added to the ending a blessing beyond measure. Now when we think of the story of Christ death, we see the whole story of salvation.
